“Giving birth should be your greatest achievement not your greatest fear.” ~ Jane Weideman

Thanks for helping bring our son into this world. Labor this time around went from the a terrible experience to such a good one. We could not be happier:) My 1st delivery was very difficult and stressful. I just wanted to thank Mary for making this labor smooth and much more enjoyable.
I got to watch Mary in action with my girl’s delivery. She was amazing. Calm, soothing and knowledgeable. She knew exactly how to help and coached the rest of us in the room on how to best help mommy. We were so relieved to have her there. When a decision needed to be made, she asked the right questions on mommy’s behalf. I sure wish I had a doula when I gave birth and I now sing her praises to every pregnant woman I know – sure wish I lived in her area!
I never had heard of a Doula until my daughter told me that Mary would be hers. I thought it sounded cool but didn’t know the significance of having a Doula until… Megan started showing signs that she would be having Titus. Mary was an integral part even before we got to the hospital. She pretty much arrived when the contractions started. She had ideas and incite on how to comfort Megan and really gave me peace of mind. I felt that she really understood what to do and when. She was able to communicate to Megan in a way that was comforting and encouraging. Something that I’m not always the best at in these kinds of situations. 🙂 She was there from the beginning to the end of the whole labor process and was able to help Megan through the labor and delivery. I really don’t know what we would have done without her. Having her there made a potentially intense situation into an experience that made us feel confident. Thank You again Mary!

Doula ServicesMy doula experience was wonderful! Having doula Mary Ramos with us for the birth of my third baby girl made such a huge difference in my birth experience. Mary was kind, loving, encouraging, and supportive through the entire process. Even though this was my third delivery, I felt I needed extra encouragement and support. I was planning to try to have a non medicated delivery and I wanted to prepare the best way possible. Having Mary as my doula helped immensely! Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips. – Proverbs 27:2

Doula ServicesMary is AMAZING. She is so down to earth and nice. We enjoyed our pre-labor meetings, where she provided us with resources to help write our birth plan, showed us birthing balls we could use, explained the use of counter pressure for contractions, and looked over different birthing positions. During my 25 hour labor, Mary never left our side. She supported my husband and was an absolute blessing to have on our birthing team. She provided us with alternative methods to counter pain so I could manage the contractions without pain medications. My husband and I both agree that we wouldn’t have another baby without her. Thank you Mary!                                                                                                                             Bethany R.

“Six weeks before I was due with my 3rd baby I shared my birth story of
my daughter (3) and my son (2) both which were induced labors Doula Servicewith Mary Ramos. I had fear and anxiety of labor and most of all getting an epidural due to the herniated discs in my back. With my daughter I was impatient and insisted on being induced if she didn’t come on her due date. I was induced and didn’t have an epidural but did request pain medication via IV. Bad choice and I agreed to NEVER get those crazy drugs again as I was unable to function after my daughter was born due to how my body reacted to the drugs. With my son I had a tear and was leaking amniotic fluid at 39 weeks, I was already 3cm so my doctor sent me to the hospital to be induced. This time around I asked for a less intense pain medicine and did not receive an epidural. I did how ever experience back labor which was just awful and left me screaming and begging for an epidural. I told myself I would never be pregnant again. I feared I would have to go through the same excruciating back labor again and the only way to avoid that was no more babies!
After meeting with Mary Continue reading “A woman in Birth is at once her most powerful, and most vulnerable. But any woman who has birthed unhindered understands that we are stronger than we know. Marcie Macari”

A Doula in Action

“I had never heard of a Doula until as of lately, from some new mommies and they told me how much it helped them. But honestly in my mind I didn’t realize how important they are.  I had never had one and thought I did pretty good with the births of my two daughters. What I didn’t realize Doula Servicesis how helpful it would have been to me, had I had a Doula. Mary was wonderful from beginning to end. She literally took a lot of stress off of my daughter as well as me. When Megan was getting uncomfortable Mary walked with her or had her use the exercise ball. She encouraged her through the whole birthing process while be sensitive to the needs and desires of the father and mother. After seeing a Doula in action I would highly recommend one but not just anyone. Mary has a gift for this. She has a calm and easy personality that fits well in these kinds circumstances and she is very knowledgeable as well. I would highly recommend Mary Ramos to be your Doula.”

Doula Services“As I reached my third trimester, I mentioned to my hair dresser that I would love a doula to boost my confidence in the birth of my first child!  How amazing that just the weekend before she learned about her good friend, Mary Ramos, becoming a doula.  It was an answer to prayer!  I scheduled to meet with Mary and felt an immediate connection. I knew I’d want her by my side.  Meeting with her prior to the delivery increased my peace with our birth plan as well as my faith in Christ!  She was open-minded, a wealth of knowledge, and she was there for me every step of the way.  Once I was in labor, Mary stayed up all night and assisted my husband and I in every way possible.  It was truly a ‘labor of love’ and I know I have gained a friend and mentor for life in Mary!”  ~ Katie G
